BlackBerry 8530 getting ready for Cricket, Metro?
posted by Joe on July 6th, 2010 - 7:30 am | Cricket
A recent FCC filing makes it look like the BlackBerry 8530 will soon be headed to Cricket. In March we learned that would get the device this summer. Yesterday we learned that Research In Motion filed a patent for what could be the Cricket-bound prepaid BlackBerry. It was originally thought to be the Curve 9300, a device headed for GSM carriers later this year, but since it is on a CDMA network it looks like the AWS version of the 8530.
While we know that Cricket will get the Curve, it’s also possible that MetroPCS could get it as well. A few users on Howard Forums claim that it will be available later in July, so we should get official word soon. MetroPCS currently offers the BlackBerry Curve 8330.
