Nokia and the case of the exploding battery
posted by Stuart on August 21st, 2007 - 10:39 am | Consumer Issues
A week or so back, there was a recall on a particular Nokia battery. The problem was that the thing was overheating, causing a bevy of problems. So the company asked for all to be shipped back, and we thought all was well. Well, it appears one person found out the hard way what would happen if you continued using said overheated battery. This story from Gizmodo tells the tale of Jonathan, a mild mannered reader who wanted to do nothing but charge his cell phone. After an hour and a half, though, the phone went “KAPOWIE.” So yeah, send in your Nokia battery if it’s on the recall list!
