This article is not completely accurate.

AT&T section: Before you talk for even a second, you’re paying $30 per month.

That's only true if you MAKE A CALL EVERY DAY. Some people like me only use my phone a few times a week for voice, and text everyday which doesn't get charged by the access fee. But when I do its M2M for about an hour + so its worth the money. Also I am able to get a text package for $4.99/month with rollover so the texts are about $.02 each. I only spend about $20-$25 a month.

These gophones aren't for everyone, but depending on your habits they can save you a bundle.

James you are stupid. Who the hell is going to buy a $30 card (300 minutes), good for two months, and only talk for one minute in those two months!? Newflash: People who buy cell phones tend to use them to talk, in many cases talk alot, and in some cases even go over their minutes. So get you're facts straight. NET10 is as fair as you can get for pre-paid: The more you talk, the more you pay, its that simple. Sure there are better deals (this always depends on the person buying the cell phone, duh.), but NET10 is nowhere near a rip off if you are smart and use your minutes wisely.

Net10's 10¢ per minute rate is deceptive, even outright dishonest. Because the cards expire, you are actually paying a MINIMUM of $15 per month. If you buy the $30 card with a 60-day time limit and then only make a single one minute call during that period, your actual rate was $30.00 per minute.
