Initially CDMA was clearly the better technology (faster, more efficient, and a clear upgrade path to next gen speeds)...I'm sure some will debate this statement ;-). However, GSM has become the preferred technology for many. Perhaps how VHS, the inferior technology, won out over Beta. Anyway, increased competition would be great, so let's hope that there isn't too much cooperation amongst the big three, and new entrants appear otherwise consumers stand to lose.
