Boost Mobile Doubles Data Again

If you like oodles and gobs of data, then Boost Mobile is undoubtedly for you. The Sprint-owned prepaid brand announced earlier this week that it will, once again, be doubling the available data on several of its monthly prepaid plans. This new promotion is aimed at customers who are looking to port a number to Boost Mobile and the company has promised customers who take advantage of this deal that they will be grandfathered once it has expired and will be able to keep the massive amount of data. Now through July 7, 2015, Boost’s $45 plan will be increasing from 5 GB of high speed data to 10 GB of data. The $55 plan will also be doubling from 10 GB to 20 GB per month. Both plans include unlimited talk and text. Personally, I’m not sure exactly why you would need that much data, but the list of things one could do with that much data at that price is pretty sweet. As a side note, if you port your number before May 31, you might qualify for a free LTE phone, so be sure to check with a dealer. To qualify for the boosted promotional data plans, consumers must:
  • Port a number from a non-Sprint company (Sprint-based MVNOs are not eligible)
  • Activate the ported number on a $45 or $55 plan and pay for the first month of service
  • Use a Boost Mobile dealer to port and activate–NOT a national partner like BestBuy or Walmart. Find a dealer near you.
Additionally, Boost announced that it will be shuttering several of its old plans including the $35 promotion Data Boost Up plan, which included 2.5 GB of data, and the $30 Data Boost plan which included 2 GB of data. The $30 plan is expected to be discontinued on May 31, but customers can choose to be grandfathered on the plan. In order to stay grandfathered on any discontinued promotional Boost Mobile plan, consumers must not switch to an ineligible device, change plans or cancel service.]]>
