Too bad AT&T discontinued prepaid unlimited data

A little over a year ago, AT&T decided to remove its unlimited prepaid data option. It’s a service which attracted all types of users, but apparently AT&T wasn’t making enough off them. This becomes a bigger shame as we learn of AT&T rolling out more 7.2 Mbps networks. If only they had just raised the price to $25, or even $30, rather than completely eliminating it. Oh well.

Word on the street is that Att will be launching a hush hush “mvno” project in Q4 with unlimited talk/text/limited data like Page Plus. Whether it will be under the Gophone name, a new Non Att branded Spinoff or Cricket being merged.

Right now, the only thing we know (from inside sources at Dallas Att) is that Att is not ignoring the prepaid market. Their unlimited $3 a day option and little known $60 soft launched unlimited talk plan under Gophone inside of four months confirms this.

Also, they’re starting to add more nice refurished phones (most likely because Christmas is just a few months away and they have a large selection then). Yesterday I noticed that they added the LG Neon Refurb. Its a start, but I would like to see more phones like the Samsung Proepl and LG Shine.

My 2 year contract is coming to an end with AT&T. I am looking at Boostmobile.com and straighttalk.com Unlimited $50. a month plans. Do you have an equivalent plan? I must lower my costs and keep unlimited minutes, texting, and pictures. Please advise to Alex Abrams at [email protected]
