New Citi credit card benefits AT&T prepaid users
posted by Joe on September 7th, 2007 - 10:00 am | AT&T
Lots of AT&T news today, but this one actually has to do with AT&T’s GoPhone prepaid service. In conjunction with Citi, “the world’s largest provider of credit cards,” AT&T has launched two new credit cards, both of which are rewards-driven and carry no annual fee. Now, we’re no advocates of credit car usage — it can land you in the financial gutter. But if you’re a responsible plastic shopper and have a prepaid account with AT*T, you could reap some benefits.
The benefits of signing up for this card include two free directory assistance calls per month, up to 30 prepaid phone minutes each month, and free phone insurance. The minutes will depend on how much you spend on a monthly basis. We love the free phone insurance, especially for prepaid, where insurance is rarely offered.
It’s called the AT&T Universal Savings and Rewards Card, and it will be available on September 12. There is an additional rewards program that provides cash back on regular purchases through Citi’s ThankYou Rewards Network. It works much the same way as other credit cards rewards program: one point per dollar spent, with a cap of 50,000 for the year.
Once again, be wary of plastic. But if you’re responsible, this will save you money on your prepaid phone expenses.
