Cricket wireless and MetroPCS, regional carriers. The majors haven’t really gotten in on the action…until now. AT&T GoPhone is now testing an unlimited plan in “limited markets in Florida.” Details after the jump, but as a teaser: it’s cheaper than their current postpaid unlimited plan. The test markets can purchase unlimited Go Phone calling for $3 per day, which works out to $90 for a 30-day month. This is cheaper than their $99 postpaid offering, but not quite at the level of other carriers. Furthermore, it offers only voice, while other carriers tend to bundle their services. Presumably this will work like AT&T’s current Pay As You Go service, which only charges the fee on days the phone is used. This would make it akin to Cricket PAYgo, except without the messaging features. Remember, too, that AT&T’s GoPhone network isn’t as expansive as its network for postpaid subscribers. The company has roaming deals which it does not offer its prepaid customers — at least not for free. This makes the network aspect of this deal a bit less palatable. It’s still a more comprehensive network than Cricket and Metro, but it isn’t as robust as one might assume. It’s unclear whether this will affect AT&T’s postpaid unlimited plan, but I doubt it. That’s not it, Dave. Unlimited Talk has been around for years, and for years it has been a false moniker. It costs $1 per day and covers unlimited calls to AT&T customers, and 10 cents a minute to others.
This plan is $3 per day and is unlimited to everyone.

This is TRUE UNLIMITED Talk. Not just mobile to mobile unlimited. Which literally is a limited unlimited, eh?
I would not trust the page that Dave Duke linked.
Unfortunately, AT&T’s web team keeps that page horribly out of date, and often posts incorrect information when they do update it.
For example, that page still lists 5 MB and Unlimited MB plans. Both are now gone, replaced by the 100 MB plan for $19.99.
A lot of companies don’t update their web pages, yet the one element on this page is a plan which wasn’t there before so OBVIOUSLY it has at least been updated in some way. Virgin Mobile still has a part of it’s current webpages sayint that they offer $5 for 10 megs of data when it’s 5 megs. So maybe, just maybe it’s not just something which happens with Att , eh?
I keep clicking on the link, Dave, and I keep seeing just two options. Unlimited Talk, and Simple Rate. There is no option I see for $3/day and unlimited to anyone. If I’m just missing it, point it out. But that Unlimited Talk option up top has been around for years.

Verizon has the same thing $3 a day all you can talk to anyone . I still think its alot of money to have to pay .
Actually, Verizon Inpulse prepaid is 3.99 or essentially $4 a day for unlimited talk.
Apparently, it is being offered in the South Florida, Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, Weston in Florida areas.
Some guy on Broward county craigslist was selling the the $3 a day unlimited plan already activated on an Att sim with $100 1 year expiration date airtime for $50 each. That comes out to $1.50 a day with the discount.
There is a pre-paid company called XS PCS that offers a $2 a day plan for nationwide unlimited talk. Its quite popular in the Northeast. You guys should take a look. My guys are selling a ton of it.
