Straight Talk iPhone FAQ

Apple iPhones are among some of the best phones in the industry and not every prepaid carrier allows them–but Straight Talk certainly does. With Straight Talk, iPhone lovers can enjoy preimum phones that will make all of their neighbors jealous along with cheap prices that will make their wallets happy.
But, with activating your Straight Talk iPhone, there are always some questions. Here we'll answer some of the more common questions associated with Straight Talk iPhones.
Q: What iPhone versions does Straight Talk offer?
A: Straight Talk sells and supports several iPhone devices including the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Support for the new iPhone 6 is expected next year but hasn't been formally announced.
Q: How do I activate my iPhone?
A: You can activate your Straight Talk iPhone the same as you would with any other Straight Talk phone: via the web or by calling their number from another phone. The number to activate your phone is 1-877-877-1986. The auto answer should walk you through the activation process. During the process, you will need to know your IMEI/MEID Number (or Serial Number) for the iPhone, which will be located on the bottom of the box.
After completing the activation through Straight Talk, you will need to set up and update your iPhone either with iTunes on a computer with internet or via a WiFi connection.
If you are using a computer, be sure you have internet access and the latest version of iTunes. Connect the iPhone to your computer using the USB cable and then read and Agree to the License agreement. You'll need to sync your phone with iTunes and a pop-up will ask if you want to download updates. Click yes.
If you are updating over WiFi, then follow the on-screen prompts to download and install carrier updates and any other updates.
NOTE: Your iPhone may send a message about needing a SIM card. Ignore and select continue–no SIM card is needed to run your phone with Straight Talk.
Once you have updated and completed the setup, you will need to call *22890 from your iPhone to program it so that it can be used on Straight Talk. Follow the instructions. Once the activation is completed successfully, the iPhone screen will say “iPhone is activated” and you can tap dismiss. You should have bars of service and the letters TFW. Congratulations! Your iPhone is ready to go. Check out iTunes to download your favorite apps and customize to your heart's desire.
Q: What service plan do I need for my iPhone?
A: Straight Talk iPhones must be activated with Unlimited or Unlimited International Service Plans. Unlimited Service Plans include unlimited talk, text, lower speed internet, picture messages and limited high speed data. They are probably the best value, so being forced to pick this plan isn't much of a downside. Unlimited plans come in 30, 90, 180 or 365 day denominations.
Q: Where can I buy a Straight Talk iPhone?
A: Straight Talk iPhones are available on their website or at a participating retailer. Walmart often carries iPhones for Straight Talk both on their site and in select stores.
Q: Can I bring my own iPhone?
A: Yes you can! You will need to make sure that it is compatible first by putting the IMEI, MEID or ESN number on this page. Remember that Straight Talk supports the following iPhone models: 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 5c. Once you have confirmed it is compatible with Straight Talk's network, then you will need to purchase a SIM card and pick a plan.
